The Blue Lagoon trilogy is the quintessential story of love and adventure by author and physician, Henry De Vere Stacpoole.  The story is a bitter-sweet anthology that explores the essence of nature, human growth, maturity, and the purity of love.

In Stacpoole’s typical fatalist fashion, The Blue Lagoon follows the Lestrange children, Dick and Emmeline, as they grow and explore their new island home.  Later, we watch them explore themselves as new emotions and desires awaken within them.  What follows is a union and a marriage as intended by nature, free of burden, sin, and completely innocent.

The Garden of God follows Dick and Emmeline’s son as he is stranded on the same island as his parents.  Dick Jr. must brave the dangers of the island and fend off Kanaka warriors while pursuing Katafa; a brainwashed girl who washed up on his shore.

In The Gates of Morning, Dick, the newly crowned King of the Katafa’s people, must work with his new queen to ready their island nation from an invasion by foreign forces.  Their efforts are complicated when the pair are thrust into an unexpected love triangle.   Le Moan, the granddaughter of the former priestess, has immediate feelings for Dick.  She has no idea Dicks wife, and new queen, is her own Aunt, Katafa.
